The US economy grew by more than expected in the three months to September 2012, by an annualised rate of 2%.
This is up from the previous quarter where the world’s largest economy grew by 1.3%.
This is good news coming off the back of this week’s announcement that the UK is officially out of recession. The UK economy returned to growth, growing by 1% in the last quarter. In fact this chart on the BBC website shows that this 1% growth is the highest rate of growth since the beginning of 2008 in the UK economy, good news indeed.
Although we have by no means seen the end of the potential problems in Europe these are encouraging signs for investors, though those that have remained invested throughout will have been rewarded with the recent steady growth in markets.
